Bamako to Sindou - Friday 20th November
Last day in Mali proved interesting. I was feeling quite poorly with an upset stomach so Richard did most of the driving. We later suffered a problem when the car felt like it had a flat tyre and became difficult to steer. It turned out our replacement front left suspension arm was falling off! Upon closer inspection it became clear that the large nut had unscrewed and the arm bearing had broken into several pieces in the process. Fortunately Richard kept a spare from the front arm change in Morocco, so with a little help again from Frank the head mechanic we continued over the border to Burkina Faso to camp. That evening we had a treat of chips from the chef and celebrated a friends Birthday with balloons we’d brought from Europe.
